National Geospatial Data Clearinghouse
This clearinghouse allows access to over 100 data servers, or nodes, that have digital geographic data primarily for use in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or other spatial software. It is part of the Federal Geographic Data Committee's National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI), which establishes policies, standards, and procedures for organizations to cooperatively produce and share geographic data.

USGS National Mapping Information

GIS data - Southern Appalachian mountains
The GIS home page for the Coweeta Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) contains site descriptions, maps, contacts, links, digital raster graphics (DRGs), digital line graphs (DLGs), remotely sensed data (Landsat Thematic Mapper, or TM, and SPOT) and value-added GIS products from other sources.
